Cock

Mike Bartlett's Cock, a play about sexuality labels, bitching, and beef, was my first production as dramaturg. This play is about what happens when we attach labels to sexuality, and how they can limit our experience of the world, and it was a very personal project for me. With careful research, I was able to ask questions of the process in rehearsal and in production meetings, and really inform the final product without being overbearing in another artist's process.

I also hosted a talkback after each show, with members of the cast and crew and some representatives from Saints LGBT+, a University LGBT+ organisation. During these discussions, my research and responses to the play helped to shape a nuanced and detailed response to the play.
